Regional Honey from the Bergisches Land

Discover Our Honey

About Us

We are Nadja Adler and David Koch.

Our bees live in a small stationary apiary in Altenberg and spend their entire lives in one permanent location. This creates a honey that reflects the genuine character of our home: the first blossoms of spring, the diversity of meadows and forests, and the lush floral abundance of summer.

The well-being of our bees always comes first. We care for our colonies with great dedication and treat them exclusively with organic acids when needed. We firmly believe: Healthy, resilient bee colonies are far more important than maximizing honey yield.

Beekeeping is far more than just a hobby for us. Driven by passion, we continuously educate ourselves, exchange knowledge with experienced beekeepers, researchers, and the Bechen Beekeepers Association, learning something new every day about the fascinating life of bees.

One more thing makes our apiary special: every queen bee has a name. Gloria, Hermine, Minna, Alma, Berit, and many others lead their colonies with their own unique character. To us, they are not merely livestock, but cherished members of our beekeeping family.

We are delighted to capture the richness of the Bergisches Land with our bees and share this unique flavor with you.

Note on Crystallization

Natural honey crystallizes over time – a genuine mark of high quality! To liquefy it again, simply place the jar in a warm water bath (max. 40 °C / 104 °F). Please do not microwave or expose to boiling water, as this destroys valuable nutrients.
